Cameron Cade just wants one shot at the big tryout. Instead, the movie kicks the door in. He gets attacked on a secluded football team property and ends up with a severe brain injury. Cool. Now, while his life is basically buffering, Isaiah White shows up. A legendary, well-decorated champion with eight titles. He invites Cameron to his remote home for an intensive training program. It’s supposed to be hope. There’s also Isaiah’s wife Elsie, an influencer, adding that glossy “this is fine” vibe. Spoiler. The longer Cameron stays, the more the “mentor” energy curdles into something darker. The film plays a constant game of blurred lines: motivation versus manipulation, rehab versus captivity. If you like your sports plots with a side of paranoia, this one’s for you.

Cameron Cade will einfach nur zum Probetraining. Natürlich wird das abgelegene Teamgelände dafür zur Startbahn für Chaos: Terror, ein schweres Hirntrauma, und plötzlich steht da auch noch ein alter Football-Champion namens Isaiah White vor ihm wie der Heilsbringer. Isaiah, immerhin mit acht Meistertiteln, nimmt Cameron mit auf sein Anwesen. Mit seiner Frau Elsie, bekannt als Influencerin. Klingt nach Reha mit VIP-Access. Wird aber eher ein Trainings-Workshop, bei dem das Lächeln immer weniger nach Motivation und immer mehr nach Kontrolle aussieht. Je länger Cameron bleibt, desto deutlicher kippt “zweite Chance” in “Wer hat hier eigentlich wen im Griff?” Him - Der Größte aller Zeiten ist kein feiner Sportfilm. Eher ein Thriller, der seine Maske festhält, bis sie rutscht.
